In the last ten years, there has been an international rise in extreme right-wing movements and parties, along with an accompanying authoritarian formation of society. In the course of this increasingly acute development, science and universities have become a field of cultural struggle for the extreme right.
The Extreme Right & Engaged Science Study Day aims to provide FAU students and staff with information about the current extreme right (with a focus on the so-called New Right), its ideologies, narratives, strategies and goals from an academic, journalistic and civil society perspective. In addition, the study day is intended to offer spaces for exchange and networking in order to jointly develop a clear, critical stance against the right in everyday life and in academia. In this sense, the study day is also to be understood as a bridge between the university and civil society, as democratic and anti-fascist forces are dependent on solidarity-based cooperation in a wide variety of formats in view of the political developments in GermanyThe Study Day Extreme Rights & Committed Science is an event of the Chair of Education with a focus on Organizational Pedagogy with the support of the Chair of School Pedagogy with a focus on Educational Governance and Educational Change and the Solinetz gegen rechts.
