About the Professorship
The professorship of International Relations and Political Economy is led by Professor Stefan Fröhlich since 2013. Main part of the teaching and the research is related to international politics and foreign affairs and security politcs. The focus is the oservation of the evolution of the international system and the role of governments and NGOs in it.
Particulary the foreign and security policy of the Federal Republic of Germany, the United States and the European Union are thematized. Furthermore international organisations like the UN, NATO, WTO or the IWF are part of the curriculum. The transatlantic relations, international trade and economy policy and the change of the multipolar global order are core issues of the chair.
The basic approaches for the research are the different historical schools of thought in the international relations.
