What next for the European Union’s (EU) climate policy? Will the EU reposition itself within the global order, for instance through future enlargements?
Karina Shyrokykh and Sandra Eckert’s current research agenda evolves around these highly topical questions. Karina Shyrokykh, Associate Professor (Docent) in International Relations with a focus on quantitative methods at Stockholm University in Sweden, is visiting the Institute of Political Science from 28th September to 2nd October 2026 at the invitation of Sandra Eckert, holder of the Chair of Comparative Political Science and European Governance. The visit is funded through the Visiting Professor Program by the Bavarian State Ministry of Science and the Arts.
The short visit will be used to work on joint publication projects and grant proposals and will facilitate an intensive exchange. Through this visit, the researchers are continuing their existing collaboration—for example, on the role of EU agencies in climate policy —and are exploring new opportunities for future cooperation.
