Online-Debate on the Reform of the Common European Asylum System

On Wednesday, February 7, 2024, Prof. Dr. Petra Bendel (Head of the Research Unit Migration, Refugees and Integration) discussed the reform of the Common European Asylum System with four Members of the European Parliament from different political groups. The online debate, which was organized by the BMBF-funded joint project FFVT, the Institute for Political Science at FAU and the Center for Human Rights Erlangen-Nürnberg (CHREN), was attended by over 100 interested viewers from academia, ministries, local authorities and civil society. The organizers would like to thank the MEPs Dr. Cornelia Ernst (MEP European United Left–Nordic Green Left – GUE/NGL), Erik Marquardt (MEP Greens/EFA | Alliance 90/The Greens), Birgit Sippel (MEP Party of European Socialists) and Lena Düpont (MEP European People’s Party group (EPP)) for the informative discussion and all participants for their active participation.
