Bun Koon is a doctoral candidate and research associate at the Institute of Political Science (Professorship of Prof. Dr. Katrin Kinzelbach). He studied Public Policy, Management, and Politics at the City University of Hong Kong, and finished his master’s degree with a focus on human rights at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg. He researches on academic freedom in the Chinese context. Other research interests include framing in social movements and legitimation strategies of the People’s Republic of China. Since February 2023, Bun’s doctoral research is funded by the Friedrich Ebert Foundation.
