FAU Doctoral Candidate Student speaks at KAPSARC School of Public Policy Conference in Riyadh
Laura Schuhn, doctoral candidate at the Chair of Middle East Politics and Society, presented the results of her research last week at the regional 2025 NASPAA conference at the KAPSARC School for Public Policy (KSPP) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. In her doctoral project, Laura Schuhn examines how citizens and civil society in Saudi Arabia use digital platforms such as eParticipation and social media to achieve responsiveness from government entities in the field of climate, environmental and sustainable policies. In addition to analyzing relevant tweets, her research also includes expert interviews and participation in various events throughout the Kingdom as part of a six-months visiting fellowship at the Gulf Research Center in Riyadh. The NASPAA conference, held for the first time in Saudi Arabia, aims to strengthen the nexus between research in the field of public policy and public administration, praxis-oriented education, and civil society in order to address global challenges. The KSPARC School for Public Policy was founded in 2024 and offers a two-year master’s program in public policy.
