Professorship International Politics of Human Rights


Dr. James Walker holds a PhD in Geography from UCLA. In addition to being a Visiting Scholar at FAU, he also teaches as Adjunct Faculty in the M.A. Program in Human Rights. Combining critical geopolitics, International Practice Theory (IPT), and Science and Technology Studies (STS), his work focuses on the impact of new technologies for human rights oriented non-state actors. In particular, he studies the adoption of Remote Sensing (RS) technology by INGO groups engaged in documentation and advocacy concerning war crimes, crimes against humanity, and other major violations of international humanitarian and human rights law.
